What this course
opens up

Interior design materials

Whether you flood a room with light or use it like punctuation. Whether you edit a space down to the essential or layer until it feels alive. Whether you need to understand a client deeply before you can design anything, or do your best work when you're trusted to just begin.

That signature is not just taste. It is driven by sixteen intrinsic motivators: stable, scientifically mapped drivers that shape how you see the world, how you interact with space, and how you connect with the people you design for.

When you understand those motivators, two things happen at once. You grow as a designer: more conscious, more purposeful, more authentically yourself in your work. And you become more effective with clients: you understand the why behind enthusiasm or friction, and you have guidelines on how to bridge the gap before it even opens.

This is not about changing how you design. It is about finally understanding why you design the way you do.

What you will discover

Four insights that
change everything

01

Your motivational signature

The 16 intrinsic motivators and how they shape your aesthetic instincts, your design process, and your communication style, mapped precisely to you.

02

Strength and distance

Where your profile is your greatest strength as a designer, and where it may create distance with certain clients, so you can bridge it consciously before it becomes friction.

03

Why some clients feel effortless

Why some client relationships feel like flow and others feel like constant negotiation, and what to do with that insight going forward in your practice.

04

Attract your ideal clients

How to attract clients whose needs align with who you naturally are, and how to consciously bridge the gap with those who don't.

Habitarmonia Academy Studio Kompas Reiss Motivation Profile

Katrien De Keyser is a certified Reiss Motivation Profile® Master and the founder of Studio Kompas, a Belgian design studio working at the intersection of interior design, environmental psychology, and neuroarchitecture.

"Good design begins with understanding yourself and your clients. Not as a philosophy. As a practice."

Her work is grounded in the science of how human behavior relates to space. She has built her practice around one conviction: that the most powerful design decisions are not made at the drawing board, but in the understanding of who you are and who you are designing for.

As a certified RMP® Master, Katrien brings both the scientific rigor of the Reiss framework and the lived experience of a practicing designer, making this course unlike anything else available in the design world.

Questions

Frequently asked
questions

Do I need prior knowledge of psychology or the Reiss model?
Not at all. The course begins with a complete introduction to the 16 motivators. Your starting point is your completed profile, which you receive before Session 1. No prior knowledge needed.
What is the Reiss Motivation Profile®?
The RMP® is a validated, scientifically grounded psychological assessment developed by Prof. Steven Reiss. It maps 16 intrinsic motivators: stable personal drivers that shape how we think, act, and connect with others. Unlike many personality tools, it focuses not on types or traits, but on what fundamentally drives you.
Is this a design course or a psychology course?
It is both, deliberately. Katrien applies the motivational framework specifically through the lens of interior design and architecture. Every insight is connected to design choices, client relationships, and professional positioning.
What happens after this course?
This is a first step, focused on awareness and self-knowledge. A second level is in development, where you will learn to use motivational profiling with your own clients: designing not just from your instincts, but from a deep understanding of theirs.
Why is the group limited to 10 participants?
The depth of this course lives in the interaction between different motivational profiles. With a larger group, the nuance is lost. With 10 participants, every session can be genuinely personal and precise: the exercises work because they are built from your real profiles, not generalised examples.
