Spaces That Hold You: November 2026Â
A Masterclass Series by Dominique Gentillon
Studio Nalca x Habitarmonia Academy
About This Masterclass
Spaces That Hold You is a live online masterclass series designed for designers, architects, wellbeing practitioners, biophilic designers, creative professionals, and anyone who wants to understand how migration, belonging, identity, and the nervous system are held within the spaces we inhabit.
Guided by Dominique Gentillon, founder of Studio Nalca, multicultural wellbeing designer, and Habitarmonia Academy Certified Biophilic Designer, this series opens an important and often overlooked conversation:
What happens when a person crosses borders and has to rebuild the feeling of home in a new place?
Migration is not only a geographical transition. It is also emotional, sensory, psychological, cultural, and embodied. Even when migration is chosen, something is often lost: familiar landscapes, daily rhythms, cultural references, objects, textures, light, language, and the version of ourselves that belonged to another place.
This masterclass introduces the concept of migrational grief and explores how displacement can live in the body before it is fully understood by the mind. Through nervous system science, migration psychology, biophilic design, and Dominique’s own lived experience, you will discover a new way of understanding the relationship between space, belonging, and emotional regulation.
This series invites us to design differently: not only from style, layout, or budget, but from story, body, memory, culture, and the deep human need to feel held by space.

Introductory Webinar
The Body Before the Room
Friday, 27 November 2026
Time to be confirmed
Live Online
This introductory webinar is part of the Habitarmonia Ecosystem. Habitarmonia Ecosystem members will be able to access this session, and it is also included for participants who have purchased the full masterclass series.
In this introductory session, Dominique will open the theme of migrational grief, the nervous system response to unfamiliar spaces, and the importance of designing homes that can hold people through cultural transition.
This webinar is a first encounter with the deeper framework of the series and an invitation to understand home not only as a physical place, but as an emotional, sensory, cultural, and embodied experience.
Masterclass 1
Spaces That Hold You
Monday, 30 November 2026
17:00–19:00 CET
Live Online
In this first session, Dominique will explore how displacement and migration live in the body.
Through nervous system science, migration psychology, and spatial experience, you will begin to understand how unfamiliar environments can register as potential threat before the mind can explain why a person feels unsettled.
You will learn how to read a space not only for what is visible, but also for what may be missing: sensory references, cultural continuity, grounding objects, familiar light, materials, rhythms, memories, and cues of belonging.
Masterclass 2
Designing for Return
Wednesday, 2 December 2026
17:00–19:00 CET
Live Online
In the second session, Dominique will move from understanding to design response.
You will explore practical tools, biophilic anchors, intake questions, and design strategies for creating spaces that honour where a person is from while helping them feel grounded in where they are now.
This session introduces a deeper way of designing for clients in transition by integrating memory, identity, culture, nature, emotional regulation, and a renewed sense of belonging.
The goal is not to create a home that forces someone to choose between past and present, but a home that can hold both.
