LIESBETH REEKMANS
A passionate change agent, systems thinker, sustainability architect and currently in the role of innovation manager. In her current role, Liesbeth advises both private and public clients in their transition to sustainable building projects through roadmaps, strategic advice and ecosystem development with a focus on re-evaluation of existing real estate and new buildings to be developed. Working closely with business, Universities and knowledge centers and industry, Liesbeth keeps a close eye on innovation and emerging business models in the marketplace.
Liesbeth has a track record in designing and implementing acceleration and incubation programs to scale up solutions and guide circular and sustainable developments. She has experience working with the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) sector in sustainable design, green buildings and neighborhoods, as well as climate design and consulting.
Liesbeth Reekmans dedicates her expertise to innovative and sustainable developments. Her focus is on well-being and sustainability, with the keywords "people, planet, prosper".
Liesbeth is convinced that the built environment has a positive impact on health and well-being if sufficient attention is paid to the needs of end users in the design concept and implementation. Optimising the built environment and restoring its connection with nature can improve the quality of life and work.
From this motivation, Liesbeth has studied Environmental, Social, and Governance for many years. She is an expert in BREEAM, WELL, innovative workplace strategies (NWOW), Sustainability and Innovation Management, and Biophilic Design. These domains form the basis of her design principles and their implementation. In doing so, Liesbeth forms a connecting link to achieve successful and sustainable results. She is a passionate professional who enjoys working with people in teams. And thereby improve the quality of life of people in the built environment.
She talks about regenerative design, systems thinking, innovation, and technology for good. Looking ahead and in line with her values, Liesbeth is eager to continue on the path of enabling regenerative innovation by partnering with solution providers, impact investors on nature-based solutions, and providing strategic advice to both private and public clients.
