Meet our Ambassador:

ILSE BAAN

Grew up with a father a mother and a brother 2 years older in Veenendaal in the Netherlands.

When I think about the past, I loved going to the vegetable garden with my grandfather and shelling the beans in the attic. My grandfather was a beekeeper, so we often visited the heath where the beehives were located. We also had bee hives at the back of our garden for a long period of time and I was intrigued by how passionately and tenderly my grandfather handled the bees. I can still taste the fresh honeycomb that my grandfather gave us from the hives.

Or when we were in the holiday homes that were next to the orange grove or the house in the forest opposite which was a corn field where we played hide and seek

The memories are mainly the moments when we were in nature, that's where I felt at home that I get from nature.

I graduated from high school and then opted for pedagogical work in childcare.

But creativity always kept me occupied, painting, renovating furniture, decorating (festive) rooms, etc.

At a certain point a large department store came my way and I started working as an Instore Visual Merchandiser. Had a great time and learned a lot.

As a result of everything I learned, I started training for Interior Styling.

And I felt good about that from the start and carried out the assignments based on my passion.

In 2020, Nuria coached me to integrate Biophilic Design into my designs, and I am grateful to her for that to this day.

I now try to complete my assignments with so much more depth.

What do my customers need, what do they feel good about? Where do I get my products that have an honest story behind them? Largely also local. Lighting is in the top 3 of important elements in the home. The 15 patterns from Biophilic Design is a fantastic tool to use when designing the interior of homes and offices.

Now with the platform we are going to extend this much further and we can include people with an affinity with design and nature in the knowledge, the opportunities for meeting, and creating a place where we have the opportunity to make the world a little more beautiful and healthier.
